At a lunch gathering for the Agricultural Tour of Lancaster County on September 7, 2023, President Arland Hotchkis presented long-time member and PSPA leader Dr. Darryl Biery with the Gold Medal of Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture. Biery has been a member since March 1989 and served as Vice-President from 1996-1998 and President in 1999-2000.
Professionally, he trained as a resident at both Cornell University (1965-1966) and the University of Pennsylvania (1966-1969). Upon certification in 1969, Dr. Biery stayed at the University of Pennsylvania for a career that spanned from 1970 as an assistant professor to 2002 as full professor as well as having a dual appointment in theDepartment of Radiology and at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School from1983-‐2003.
