Jim Diamond, Ph.D., to Speak in December

Dr. Diamond will share his rich life story.

Dean Emeritus, Delaware Valley College

Jim Diamond grew up near Doylestown, Pennsylvania and earned a B.S. degree at Delaware Valley College. He earned a M.S. degree at Lehigh University and a Ph.D. at Penn State University. He taught vocational agriculture at Upper Bucks County Vocational and Technical School. As a Peace Corps volunteer from 1971 to 1974, he sponsored agricultural (agronomic, livestock, social) training programs in rural villages. He developed a methodology and implemented a pit silo system to store grass silage that became both a national program in Chad and international program in Africa. Later, he was an assistant professor of agricultural extension and education at Penn State University. Subsequently he served as dean of agricultural and environmental sciences at Delaware Valley College. Upon his retirement he was made Dean Emeritus at that institution.
