Society members and guests will tour the Agricultural Research Service’s Eastern Research Center, Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. This pioneering research lab was built in 1940, partly in response to an initiative from our former PSPA officers, including former Farm Journal Editor Wheeler McMillen. Kevin Hicks, a Society member and Research Leader, Sustainable Biofuels and Co-Products Research, will conduct the tour. Dr. Hicks leads a team of 30 scientists and engineers conducting research to develop new uses for agricultural commodities and by-products and new processes for the production of fuel ethanol from corn, barley, and biomass.
