Penny and her husband, John Hunt, own a 130-acre farm in northern Chester County where they have raised a closed Angus herd for the past 32 years. For the last eight years they have been cross-breeding very successfully with Wagyu. And, during Covid-19, they are selling direct! They also run a horse boarding operation. All feed for these operations is grown on the farm and other rented land. Both steers and horses require a lot of pasture!
Penny brings considerable organizational skills to her presidency. She is retired after 30 years as Executive Director of a national non-profit where she organized symposiums, meetings and study trips in the U.S. and Europe. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and holds the masters degree in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
