John R. Plummer grew up on his family’s tobacco/beef farm in middle Tennessee. He attended undergraduate school at Austin Peay State University and received a Ph. D. in Animal Science at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has been a Professor at Delaware Valley College of Science and Agriculture for 34 years teaching courses in Animal Nutrition, Physiology of Lactation, Dairy Science Techniques, and Dairy Systems and Management. Together with his wife, Maxine, and children, Paul and Amy, he raises and shows registered Toggenburg dairy goats and Jersey cows under the herd name, Neshaminy Acres. John has been active in mentoring and advising young people in International Science Fair competition, 4-H work, and in his church.
