Focusing on ornamental horticulture production, specifically perennials, woody shrubs, and trees, this program addresses topics such as the role of intermediary organizations; how growers forecast the market; what their growing year looks like; how they liaise with academia in terms of research; and recent trends like gardeners and designers using more natives, and growers substituting species/cultivars as traditional natives fail to thrive.

Field trip includes stop at North Creek (wholesale) Nurseries, 388 North Creek Road, Landenberg, PA 19350.  Box lunch included in fee.

• Thursday, July 17, 2025 with meet and greet at Longwood Gardens entrance at 10:00 am; program at 10:30 am.; and luncheon at noon.  Visit to ornamental wholesaler/retailer follows for which you will need to provide your own transportation.  Program dismisses from there.
