Community Supported Agriculture Growing; Discussed by Society at April Luncheon

Recent years have seen robust growth in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), the farming model in which local residents provide funding to farmers in advance of the growing season in exchange for a share of the produce when it’s ready. Joan Norman, who has farmed One Straw Farm in Maryland on a CSA basis since 1983, gave an excellent presentation on CSAs in general and her operation in particular to the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture in April.
