PSPA Visits the “Linc”

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, I had the opportunity to accompany colleagues from the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture to visit the “low-mowed pasture” aka the football field at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philly. The head groundskeeper explained to us “aggies” the ins and outs of going from monster trucks to soccer to large concerts to football over roughly nine months.

PSPA President Dr. Mike Fidanza, professor of agriculture specializing in turf management at Penn State Berks provided the color commentary.

We also hosted about 15 students and teachers from Lankenau Environmental High School who got a taste of high-tech ag careers.

All of us were surprised to see the locker room and press room as well as the tunnel onto the field.

A great time was had by all.
