Cuban Ambassador to US Visits PSPA Meeting

Cuban Ambassador to US Visits PSPA Meeting

Trade Mission Planned for Fall 2024

Spirits were high at the meeting of the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture on May 2, 2024 at the Union League with a very interesting lecture on the agricultural components of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, more that a dozen representatives of FFA and MANNRS from three Philadelphia high schools, and a visit from the Cuban Ambassador to the United States made up a full agenda with something for everyone of the 60 persons attending.

Ambassador Lianys Torres Rivera spoke about the needs that Cuba has in the agriculture sector, both to feed its own population and to develop export commodities for trade. She heartily supported an impending trade mission being planned by PSPA and other Partners

Ms. Torres Rivera was joined by First Secretary Anabel Serrallonga; Second Secretary Yuliette Tain; Deputy Chief of Mission Alejandro Garcia del Toro; Milay Galvez, Representative of Cuba with the Consular Corps of Philadelphia; and Hamidou Traore, President, African & Caribbean Business Council as well as David Webster, local organizer.
