Happy to be the part-time Secretary (like Administrator) of the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture, the oldest (1785) agricultural society in the country.
Our monthly meeting in October took us to Longwood Gardens which is one of the premier horticultural research and education facilities in the country. Also, a beautiful place to enjoy nature.
Our PSPA group of 40 or so members and guests received the”behind the scenes” tour to see where plants are propagated, where designs are created, and the areas that support the gardens which are the “front of the house”. CEO Paul Redman greeted up and provided lunch. Many of us strolled around the grounds and arboretum to see the start of the Mum Festival.
