On May 1 Dominic O’Brien, the incoming President of the World Trade Association of Philadelphia and a Board Member of the District Export Council will give us a tour of both the Wholesale Food Distribution Center and the Port of Philadelphia. The newly modernized Food Distribution Center will be a remarkable opportunity to see up close the state-of-the-art in modern food handling and sales. O’Brien will highlight the Port’s role in food transportation, focusing on facilities and services. The Delaware River Port complex is one of the largest cargo gateways in the US and handles billions of dollars in food products each year.  As in previous years this Society field trip will be a milestone event.  Make sure you reserve early for this outstanding trip – and bring a guest!
