DESCRIPTION:Dr. Elizabeth (“Beth”) Guertal is a soil scientist and educ
 ator and was the first Rowe Endowment Professor in the Department of Crop\
 , Soil and Environmental Sciences at Auburn University (Auburn\, AL).  Sh
 e is one of only three women in the world who is a Fellow of the American 
 Society of Agronomy\, the Soil Society of America\, and the Crop Science S
 ociety of America.  She served as president of the Crop Science Society o
 f America\, and is also a Fellow in the American Association for the Scien
 ce.\n\nDr. Guertal will provide an interesting historical look at the deve
 lopment of nitrogen fertilizer and how nitrogen fertilizer has impacted hi
 story\, hunger\, and the environment.  She will also discuss the role var
 ious types of nitrogen fertilizers play in crop production and the environ
 ment\, from explosions to methamphetamine to corn.\n\n Logistics\n\n 	Thu
