DESCRIPTION:Harriton House\, originally known as Bryn Mawr\, is an historic
  house which is located in Montgomery County\, Pennsylvania\, and was most
  famously the residence of Founding Father Charles Thomson.  He originall
 y acquired the house and estate through his marriage to Richard Harrison's
  daughter\, Hannah Harrison\, in 1774.\n\nIn 1789\, after serving 15 years
  as the Secretary of the Continental and Confederation Congresses\, Charle
 s and his wife Hannah retired to Harriton\, where he remained until his de
 ath in 1824.  In his retirement\, Charles pursued an interest in scientif
 ic agriculture\, which was America's principal industry immediately follow
 ing the Revolution.  He was a member of the Philadelphia Society for Prom
 oting Agriculture.  Harriton House was added to the National Register of 
 Historic Places in 1973.\n\nLocation\n\nHarriton House\n500 Harriton Road\
 nBryn Mawr\, PA  19010\n\nLogistics\n\n 	Thursday\, May 7\, 2026 with mee
 t and greet at front entrance at 10:00 am\; program at 10:30 am.\; and lun
 ch together at noon.  Lunch will be served in a location adjacent to the
