New Assistant Secretary Steps Up

MH-McGrath_1Former president of the Society, Michael McGrath, has agreed to serve as Assistant Secretary for the 2014-2015 fiscal year. This year will be a transition as Ralph Bartholomew has decided to retire after many years of faithful service to the Society. McGrath brings to the job many years of experience holding various offices and committee assignments within the Society and a career in agricultural and rural planning. McGrath headed the farmland preservation efforts for the State of Delaware for 28 years and saw nearly one-quarter of the state’s agricultural land permanently preserved. On his new job McGrath commented, “Following Ralph Bartholomew’s tenure as Secretary is a daunting task indeed! Ralph’s example will lead me as I ‘learn the ropes’ from the master. I look forward to the challenge and hope that members will give me their feedback and ideas as I take over this key position.” McGrath added that he can be reached at pspaonline@gmail.com
